autorun doesn't well... run

Post by mrmajik45 »

I use VirtualBox for ReactOS testing but when I "Insert" the guest additions CD, it doesn't autorun! The autorun file IS there but ReactOS doesn't run it.

Hi,

well, there comes me a idea.. if the autorun goes fixed, then why not directly
add in a option or a possibility, what's makes able to controlling the autorun-option,
for enabling or disabling the autorun and make it possible for other
settings in autorun with a complete cpl in control.
And not only a option for enabling and disabling the autorun,
but it also makes it possible to regulate all other settings that be possible to include
on this controlpart for removable Media

an cpl where makes possible to set read/write possible with/without Password (setting up a password)
(and connection to the serverinstance for controlling by Administrators too)
over SDCard(r/writer), USB or R/W on CDRom with password to make it possible for disable
to bring out Data without know from the Chef or Administrators.
For hold the Security and savety on the right place .

easy as a suggestion..

and by the way mrmajik45 for issues like this autorun
On top at the Headpage of Reactos.org it is a link on top to Jira :

I don't know what Blackcrack is rambling on about. But yes, autorun is simply not implemented. It's not a particularly well-liked feature of Windows, so nobody has had much interest in working on it. There's an old Jira ticket about it: https://jira.reactos.org/browse/CORE-1262 -- and the current state of it is:
Whoever wants to implement this (for some reason) please reopen this ticket.
